Group of 7 youngsters detained for malicious damage to property

On Tuesday 18 August 2015 at approximately 15:45 Neighborhood Watch Support officers Marshall Swart and Denino Fielies on N99 the Neighborhood Watch Support vehicle sponsored by Secure Rite were on crime prevention patrols in Somerset West CBD when a member of the community informed them of a group of youngsters on the corners of Main and Victoria road Somerset West that were apparently sniffing glue.

The officers investigated and found the youngsters and a Toyota Fortuner motor vehicle of which the back passenger window was broken. The officers questioned witnesses who pointed out the group of youngsters sniffing glue. The officers detained the youngsters and waited for SAPS

The owner of the vehicle arrived on scene and made a criminal case against the youngsters when Somerset West Police arrived and arrested the suspects.
